DESCRIPTION:After such a long winter, the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra will bring li
 ghtness to Peterborough in the April 12th concert, “Inspired.” This concert
  features a wonderful selection of pieces including:\n• Canadian composer M
 ozetich’s Postcards from the Sky that will leave you feeling like your floa
 ting above the clouds.\n• Canadian composer Buhr’s Akasha/Sky—music that fe
 els expansive while also grounding you.\n• Respighi’s Boticelli Triptych wh
 ich will leave you feeling like you’ve stepped into a painting and heard it
  come alive!\n• Stravinsky’s love letter to Italy, Pulcinella Suite. It’s o
 ld-school music with a playful, crisp and slightly mischievous twist.\n\nTh
 e audience will also be treated to Mozart’s Flute Concerto no. 1 with brill
 iant up-and-coming virtuoso flutist, Gillian Derer. Under the inspired lead
 ership of Music Director, Michael Newnham, this concert is designed to show
 case the musical talents of our guest artist and the soloists from within t
 he orchestra.\n\nThe concert will be held in the afternoon at 3 p.m. at Sho
